How to keep score, step by step

1 · Start your round

Type the course name, add each golfer with a tap and give them an emoji, then choose 9 or 18 holes and gross, net or Stableford. Handicaps go in beside each name.

2 · Score as you play

On the card, tap the number of strokes and then the golfer's avatar. Or open a hole to see par, yardage and your previous scores, and log putts, fairways and greens hit.

3 · Play a game

Skins, Singles Match Play and Four-ball Best Ball are worked out for you as scores go in — pick the format and the standings update themselves.

4 · Play together

Create a 4-ball and let the others scan the QR code or type the six-character code; everyone's scores appear live. Competitions work the same way with a leaderboard across rounds.

5 · Real handicaps and ratings

Save course rating, slope and par for each tee, then apply them to your round so net scores match real golf. You can also rate the clubs in your bag with average distances.

6 · Finish and share

Finished rounds land in History with totals, Out and In, and Stableford points. The share button turns any round into a scorecard image ready to post.

7 · Ask Score Mate on the course

On a hole, the Ask Score Mate button gives caddie advice on club choice and strategy. With no signal your question waits and sends itself when you're back online.

8 · Keep it across devices

Score as a guest and rounds stay on this phone. Sign in and your handicap, rounds and tips follow you everywhere — you can export or delete everything from your account page.
